Ceramic Workshop: Floral Nesting Plates with Mitch Segall
Sunday January 14th from 10:30am-1:30pm and Sunday January 28th from 10:30am-12:30pm
Beginner Level Class – Must be 16 or older (minors with supervision).
Designed for those who love to get their hands dirty and make gorgeous home accents from scratch! Local artist Mitch Segall will guide you through the making of a gorgeous, custom set of floral nesting plates.
During this two-part 6 hour workshop, you’ll learn all about the slab building technique. You’ll also learn how to effectively imprint clay to create texture using found objects. By the end of class, you’ll understand proper drying techniques for creating tiles, plates, and other flat work in porcelain.
All supplies and materials will be provided. If you wish, we invite you to bring in your own foraged materials to imprint into your final piece. Think of thick stems and florals with a lot of texture!
Everyone will walk away with a series of 3 nesting plates measuring roughly 6”, 8”, and 10” overall. Please note, your plates will be ready for pick up 1 week after the final class, when the kiln firing is complete.

About the Instructor:
My name is Mitch Segall and I’m the founder of Central Ceramics Co. I’ve been working with clay for nearly 20 years, since I took my first ceramics course in high school. Since then I’ve worked and apprenticed in a number of studios and have over 10 years of experience teaching pottery. I love exploring shape, texture, and color and the ways in which I can stretch their limitations with clay. Currently, my work reflects the aesthetics that have inspired me during my life in the central USA and while living in Central America.

Returns
We do not control the inventory in our warehouse and factory. This means that the actual stock could change at any time. Please be aware that it is possible that your order could be out of stock after you've placed your order.
Our policy lasts 30 days. We cannot exchange or refund your order if it has been 30 days since the purchase.
The item should not be used and in its original condition. It must also be returned in the original packaging.
